The Bob Ross Project's very first painting night was held on June 29th with the intent of raising money for the Trevor Project. The painting night was attended by 35 people and raised 375$ in donation. Paint brushes were donated by Sherwin-Williams Paint, pride themed cupcakes were donated by Big Sugar bake shop, and paint was donated by Global Prep Academy. Founders

Cassidy Bensko
Cassidy Bensko is currently a Junior from Southern California. She is the founder of multiple journalistic, environmental, as well as socially activated projects including; Project Fork Cast, The Four Poles, and GPA Debate.
I chose to take part in founding The Bob Ross Project because as a student in 2018, my struggle to succeed in school and uphold a social life often interferes with my ability to maintain a healthy state of mind. Bob Ross has always been a means of escape and break from whatever is on my mind and through this project I hope to share the beauty that Bob Ross has brought into my own life.
Kayla Tomlin
Exploring different forms of art has always been a passion of mine. I chose to take part in the Bob Ross Project because as an artist I have used visual art to escape the stress I was facing socially and academically. Art has also allowed me a way to express myself when words can’t. With suicide being the leading cause of death for men under 50 and more women taking their lives each year, the time to advocate for mental health is now. Bob Ross has been an important factor throughout my teenage years, helping me put my mind at ease when it is the most stressed. Through this project I hope to share this relaxation in a form of art therapy.
Kayla is currently a freshman attending Syracuse University. She has participated in multiple programs and project including National Art Honor Society, AP Studio Art, Feeding it Forward, and the Thirst Project.
